A few weeks ago, I spoke with Mike Ryherd, a pastor at Abiding Peace Church in Flower Mound, TX, who also partners as an ambassador for TRIGG. I wanted to learn more about what it’s like to be a pastor. I grew up in a small town in central PA, and my experience with pastors was that they were always kind, down-to-earth people that knew what to say to encourage and mentor their community.
Mike, first and foremost, is real and genuine. He leads a small church and has a three-part mission of discipleship: He identifies disciples, equips them to maturity, and releases them as leaders for the Kingdom of God. He hasn’t led a perfect life, which is, in part, why the mentorship of Larry Titus of Kingdom Global Ministries has had such a strong impact on Mike and the shape of his ministry.
I asked Mike about the practical day-to-day, month-to-month needs and challenges that he and his church face as they pursue that mission. Mike spoke about the budget, breaking models that don’t work, and crises that will come up from time to time. This made sense, but what about the opportunities? What opportunities would help his ministry fulfill its mission?
“God can do more with less; he fed the 5,000 with less fish. Instead of using the Army, he used David. I believe we are going to have an impact—Kingdom Sized—on many parts of the world.”—Mike Ryherd
And that’s pretty much how TRIGG’s Growth Partners program works. We’re working together and doing more with less: First, you connect TRIGG to organizations with facility needs. Second, we serve the needs of the organization. Third, we will donate a generous percentage of our revenue to your ministry.
Ways our program can help your ministry
- For a Pastor: Do you need to take a vacation this year, but either invested all the funds back into your ministry or just don’t have enough left this year? Use these extra funds to take a time of rest.
- For a worship team: Is there a need for new worship leaders, musicians, singers, or production members, but you need more resources? Use the program funds to turn the team you envision into a reality. Or upgrade your audio, video, and lighting equipment.
- For the Missions team: The team works hard preparing to provide global outreach for the Kingdom. This year, use the program funds to help send a fully-staffed team to the missions that they serve.
Why we’re doing it
TRIGG believes that when businesses and ministry work together as one, for the Kingdom first, we’ll see Acts 4:32-35 come alive in the marketplace:
32 All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had.
33 The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all.
34 There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them
35 and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need.
